Clean as a whistle!! Plus 38th anniversary!

Yep, nothing in my colon that shouldn't be there. No polyps, no cancers, just a nice good looking colon. LOL What can I say. I was very nervous when I went in. I think it was due to hubby's troubles and his surgery. With my doc I didn't even have to go to the hospital. This doc and a couple others have their own clinic now just for doing colonoscopies. Nice office too. I went back to the prep room, got my Bp and an iv. Then we were off to the surgery room, where they gave me a nice relaxing "snore" drug. The next thing I knew I was back in the prep room. The nurses make sure one is awake, then see if you can drink some water and let you know the results of your test. . As you get steady, you can get dressed, stand and off to the wheelchair and home!!!! Whole thing took about an hour and a half.

When I got home, I have coffee, with milk and some toast. YUM!!!! Boy that coffee sure tasted good! LOL I will say I slept like a log that night too.

So, on Thursday, 15 May was our 38th wedding anniversary. We didn't do anything special. Went to the Farmer's market, got some great veggies and fruit. Plus a couple of cute little chocolate cupcakes. Hubby got his fresh tamales that he likes and some fresh roasted peanuts. We then decided to go down to Balboa Island and check out the little shops. I found a nice "track suit" in a dusky pink and another "sunning" dress in terry-cloth. I love walking around down on the island. So pleasant and the smell of the sea air is wonderful.

After getting home, we got things ready for dinner. Steak, fresh white corn, sweet potatoes, fresh strawberries and fuji apple slices. We ate out on the patio and just enjoyed the evening. What a wonderful way to spend out 38th year together!!

Island

Ok, you have seen my neighbor Joe!!! Anyway, another neighbor had come over a few weeks ago and asked me if I wanted a "butcher block top" from her employers kitchen. They were having a "new one" installed. Of course I wanted it!! The people she works for are very rich and sometimes they don't realize what they have!! So, last week Linda's friend dropped off the counter top. Now, understand they must have paid a lot for this top-it is hard rock maple and over 2 inches thick. It takes 2 guys to carry it as it is so heavy!!! So, I asked Joe if he would replace the top on a island cupboard that my step-father had made years ago. Mother had told me he always wanted to have a butcher block top on it, but they are so pricey, he had just put a plain top on.
The deal was Joe could have the rest of the counter top!! Being a woodworker he just beamed!! So along with hubby, they measured, cut and secured it to the island!! It is so pretty. I have already oiled it with extra virgin olive oil!!!
Hopefully, this year, I am going to get the kitchen painted. I want the other cupboards white, and have other counter tops tiled with a tiled backsplash. Plus a new floor put in!!
But, enjoy Joe and all he did today before the "Super Bowl" !!!
I wonder what Joe is going to do with the rest of the butcher block top?? HUMMMMM I will just have to take more pictures of when he makes something from it!!!!

Our temps today were 89 degrees!! In Feb!!! But, they are saying me might get some rain towards the end of the week!!! they should have had the Super Bowl here!!

And Mother had a "good" day. Nothing happened!! Hey, she had her "boyfriend", Joe over!! LOL
