Ok, I know a lot of people play video games, me included. But, I will say playing on the Wii is different. We started with the golf game. Poor hubby. He tried and tried but I won there-LOL And I don't really like golf, ether on the video game or for real-sorry. On the Wii, you have ti get up and swing like a real golf club. It's interesting as the game will let you know the wind speed and direction, the lay of the course and which clubs would be best. I came up with a +4 and hubby was a +6. Poor guy.
Mario Karts is another fun one. If you know anything about Mario, you know all the different characters. And the different vehicles you can pick to race in. I went with baby Peach. And my car was pink and fast. I might try the motorcycle next tho. Hubby did win here. The new thing with Wii is you get a steering wheel to use instead of just the controller. Gotta get used to that. In the old version, just the controller was used.
The steering wheel is small and the controller goes inside it.
Well, with gas prices up, even going to the movies can cost a small fortune, and TV can be boring lately, I think hubby and I found a new way to have a fun evening together. LOL
We also catch the bus and go down to the beach. No parking costs or even worry about finding a parking space. That's nice to do in the early morning. We bring a thermos of hot coffee and treat ourselves to a donut and sit and watch the surfers and waves. With the day pass for the bus we can go all over all day for $3.00. Nice. We might try going on the 1 and checking out Seal Beach. That bus goes along the coast so one gets a great view of the ocean for the entire trip.
Sometimes we bring a small lunch and sometimes we treat ourselves to lunch. But, here is one way we are trying to do "small day trips" and watching the pennies too. I still want to go down to San Diego to the museum and see the Pompey exhibit. On that one we would spend the night. But there are lots of motels that are under $75, and have a pool too. The buses down in San Diego go everywhere so no problem there. We park at the Amtrak in Santa Ana, and catch the Surfliner south. All the trams and buses are across the street from the train stations. Most of the motels will pick us up too. I also would like to spend the day going north on the Surfliner and see Santa Barbara.
Well, enjoy how we play tourists in our own county. Lets hear how you just have fun on a budget?? !!!!
